WEDDINGS....how things have changed

I remember when i was much younger and i heard the word "wedding" my mind automatically goes to 2 events, the white wedding (which is the church wedding) and the traditional marriage (which is the reception).                                                                                                                                                Things are quite different now, BIG difference actually....see how i stressed the word big ? I will explain.
The white wedding; One thing i know that hasn't changed at all is the selection of wedding gowns, every single bride i've seen (on pictures, magazines, instagram etc) or i've met and worked with always want the most beatiful gowns they can get no matter the prize

, i mean i've seen my grandmas' wedding pictures and she claims it was the best gown at the time ( BTW: my grandmas' "hot" gown is  just......lol).
Every other thing has changed, it used be different, brides wake up on their wedding morning, slap whatever makeup they have in their makeup purse on their face, put on their gown and they're good to go, it was that simple but now you see brides paying a huge sum of money to hire a professional makeup artist (don't get me wrong, it's a good change because i'm a makeup artist).
They get professional photographers (called "cameramen" back then), lodge in hotels a day before the wedding, rent or buy robes, one color for the bride and the train all wear a different color in (this particular one i'm yet to understand). The wedding invite says "church service starts at 9AM" but knowing what may be going on at the hotel, its proberly going to start an hour late. Moving on, after the church service, the grand entrance to a reception that is NOT the traditional marriage. The ways the halls are arranged you'll think you're in paradise.

Second entrance usually comes with a new dress, a completely gorgeous gown, this one is becoming a normal thing every saturday. The wedding gown isn't enough anymore, brides want to look different and that i can relate to, who would miss a chance to get a new dress???

I don't want to go into the caterers, or hiring of event planners, before, the minute you walk into a to be brides' house, everywhere is bubbling, you'll percieve different types of food been prepared by the brides' mommas' friends and some of the brides' friends assisting (the ones that have been around for few days, the good friends). No one wants stress anymore which is good actually. I for one is ok with the bride staying away from all the hustle and bustle of the weddding morning, Just her, her hairstylist, her makeup arstist, the chief braidsmaid and the photographer.
We even have ushers in todays wedding, no more bridal train and siblings serving the food. Good upgrade if you ask me. As for the gifts *sighs* that one has taken a whole new level oh, the type of gifts people get at wedding these days ehnnn, no more ceramic cups or soup plates (i can open a ceramic shop with the amount of ceramic plates i've gotten at weddings as gifts) or even parkers(i've attended a wedding where i was given sieve, don't ask). The most recent bridal job i did, the bridesmaids were given tabs as their wedding gifts.  ( A big congratulation to the new Mrs Chi Chi Silver)
As for the cakes, i'll let the picture do the talking...

Don't have much to say about the traditional marriage part cause the main focus is the white wedding but do not get me wrong, as an Ibo lady, traditional marriage is very important where i come from, that's a story for another day....
Notice how i didn't talk about the grooms, well that's cause your routine hasn't changed and cause the bride is usually the main attraction, so y'all need to give me something to write about, step up your game, lodge, wear robes or anything.

I'm glad though, change is good, i mean i get paid and appreciated for doing what i love.
Signing out now... please leave your comments or anything you feel i left out below.
Thanks for stopping by guys.

MyMakeupNg Makeup Haul: Concealer and strips lashes

So I recently purchased these "beauties" from mymakeupng.com and I'm loving them.
THE CONCEALER PALETTE   The first time I saw this palette I knew I had to get it cause I needed a palette and the prize was just crazy! To be honest it was a risk because at that prize I kept on thinking "this is rubbish, no one sells a palette at that prize" like duh it had to be fake or something but I couldn't stop going back to the site.
So I finally gave in, like I had nothing to lose and it couldn't be that bad. I made my order alongside my cheeky fancy false eyelashes. It took 3 days to get to me from Lagos cause I was in Benin.
Initially I thought it was the Costal scent concealer palette but it came in a black pack with nothing written on it. Before now I used the LA Girl Pro HD Conceal Concealer and Milani Concealer which are really great.
I tried it out, did a foundation/highlight and contour routine and it wa‎
s awesome, its a cream but in a solid form concealer...that make sense?. One thing I particularly L-O-V-E about this concealer is its so easy to blend, I apply it using the concealer brush and blend it out with my damp beauty blender sponge and it comes with different shades ranging from dark to light which can be used to highlight and contour. To sum it up, it was totally worth it.
CHEEKY FANCY FALSE EYELASHES
Everyone loves the Redcherry's, Ardell's, Lash it out's etc... I like to try new things every now and then and I select my lashes by feeling the texture of the lash itself and how thin the band holding them together is, it doesn't have to be "human hair" all I need is soft strands.

These lashes was among the first thing you see in the "Eye section"  then(haven't checked it recently), there are 80 pair of lashes, 40 in each pack. They go from natural look to "yh I'm that crazy" look. All soft, thin band, easy to apply reusable lashes. The prize is completetely worth it. Visit their site and make an order.
All right guys, that's it for today, sorry it took me a while to post this, there's an explanation....school. Please leave your comments and questions below or on my facebook page facebook.com/nuellsignature. Thanks for checking in.

Zaron Brow "Definer" and how I get my brow on a fleek!

I call it "brow filler".
Got this in 2012 I think, the Zaron lady I met had the best marketing skills cause she literally convinced me to buy it even when I was crying over the prize (N1150, don't laugh at me, that amount was a big deal to me then especially when I was used to buying the Davis N50 eyepencil) and the fact that I didn't know how to use it back then.
Well things are different now because I can't do without it when drawing my brows, it's really good, so easy to apply and best part is it lasts longer than brow pencils.

It took me awhile before I figured it out...

How I fill in my brows *First thing you wanna do is comb your brow hair in place using a "spoolie wand", I usually brush the hairs up, then over and down tracing my natural brow line (if you don't know what a spoolie looks like, click here  & http://www.gloprofessional.com/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/308x/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/g/m/gm-brush-spoolie-L_1.jpg
  • *sorry guys, tried uploading the picture but it didn't work*

     ~Back to the tutorial~
*After brushing your brows in place, use a brow pencil (I used my Mac dark brown pencil) to outline the brows starting at the bottom and make sure to follow the shape of your  natural brow line, I do the top of the brow line next.

*Once that is done, I fill in the sparse area in my brows using the lighter shade from my Zaron brow definer, I also use the spoolie to comb my brows at this point to give it that natural look and I pay more attention to the start of my brows to make that particular place look lighter than the rest of the brow.
*Next is what I call "clean up"....Using my concealer(Milani in Honey miel and LA pro HD concealer in cool tan •i normally use a concealer two shades lighter than my skin complexion on my brow bone, this is to give it a little highlight) and a small angled brush, I clean up any mistake following closely the line I drew first with my Mac pencil.

*Finally it's all about the blending....blend! blend!! blend!!! Using a small blending brush, I blend out the concealer, this is to clear up the conealer around the brow area and also prevent the "halo" thingy on the brows....

~That is it guys....how I get the fleeek brows...please leave your comments and questions below. Thanks for stopping by. Muahhhh!

Everyone is becoming a makeup artist

Was in the market a few days ago and I saw them (makeup artists) lined up marketing themselves, these are women and ladies who sell the fake N400 Marykay terming themselves Pro MUA, I laughed cos they have no idea what being a makeup artist means.
There are MU schools everywhere now, people are starting to realize how lucrative it is.
Best part about being a makeup artist is that jobs will always come, this is because people get married every Saturday. You just need to learn how to market yourself and jobs will come to you.
To be a good makeup artist you need to have passion...i loved painting my face when i was younger(used younger cos i'm still young) .
It gives me great joy that i can do it as a profession now.
Aii, that's all for now deariesss
